Representing The idiosyncratic Beehive pub in Old Town and, proudly flying the flag for pub cricket in Swindon, Beehive C.C. regularly take on a mixture of other pub and club sides all over Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath, and The Cotswolds.
After a decade or two in the wilderness and a couple of years of adhoc games, Beehive Cricket Club was officially reformed in 2015 as a welcoming home for cricketers of all standards. From veterans and refugees from the rigours of Saturday league cricket to willow wielding virgins; ability comes a close second to the love of the summer game and the love of a good pint after!
Unfortunately, we currently have no home pitch, however, we are willing to travel anywhere, within reason, for a decent friendly match as long as there is a cracking pub or clubhouse to retire to after.
The Beehive pub itself is an eccentric boozer with a wide variety of live music and an art gallery for local artists, poetry nights, and regular cultural events. Tucked away behind The Regent’s Circus development of Morrison’s, Restaurants, and the cinema, The Beehive serves a range of six quality Real Ales, an exciting new range of craft beers and is in The Good Beer Guide.
Real Ales, Craft Beers, locally sourced food, local music, local art and a local community cricket team: The Beehive is Old Town’s perfect local!
We also pride ourselves on serving the finest post-match cricket tea in Swindon! Please visit the photo gallery for pictures.
